The five members of the band came from backgrounds varying from Assamese folk to metal and blues to trip hop; along with Higher-on-Maiden from UK - the world’s original and finest tribute to IRON MAIDEN. ROBO-MOBILE WORKSHOP

Make your own mobile
With this Mobile Making Workshop, ABLab aims to cover all the parameters required to design a simple mobile phone (GSM based). Participants will get an opportunity to make a mobile phone using a AtMega-16 microcontroller and SIM300 GSM modem. For display and control, a 16*2 alpha numeric LCD and a keypad will be used. SPELLOPHILIA - Spelling Bee contest is a new concept introduced for the first time in PYROKINESIS. The contestants are asked to spell out words from the English language. Before spelling the word, they will have to pronounce it loud, thus testing their pronunciation skills. Apart from widening one’s knowledge about spellings and correct pronunciations, spelling bee shall help develop enthusiasm among the youngsters to improve their vocabulary. This is the first time that spelling bee is been organized at national level by an educational institution in Assam. Being a pioneer, Spellophilia promises an active participation from not only the school students, but also interested people from different parts of north east India. To widen the sphere of PYROKINESIS, we have come up with an event that will include participation of school students as well as college level students.
The event will comprise of two groups.
GROUP A-class VI –X
GROUP B-class XI onwards.
There will be three rounds in the event, one of which will be a rapid fire. . There will be exciting prizes and gift hampers for the audience as well. We here through “Visual Impact” aim at giving AECians as well as other participants a platform to showcase their photographic talents. This event also throws a light on how one’s photography can make us feel the wider perspective of life. It also helps us in viewing a certain aspect through someone else’s eyes. This event basically constitutes of photography contest as well as a photo-exhibition. The Photographic contest: It is further divided into three heads:
1. Mobile camera category (open to all)
2. Digital camera category (open to all)
3. Digital SLR camera category (open to all)

The Photo-Exhibition: There will be an exhibition of photographs of renowned photographers as well as the budding talents from the north-east. The best photographs among the participants in the photography contest will also be exhibited in the exhibition.

This event will eventually mark the beginning of the Pyrokinesis 2012. The event is expected to bring an overwhelming response from the students. The excitement that the marathon is being held for the first time which will vent in a very detonative way. We are looking forward to some passed out students and also some celebrities to inaugurate and participate in the event. In consonance with the theme ‘Run for Global peace’ for the Marathon race, one of the mega events would be the marathon, named “AEC MARATHON” which is all set to take place on 21st of january as a prologue to the main programme of Pyrokinesis 2012 beginning January 21st and to end on 23rd january in the AEC campus. The event is proposed to start from the Pyrokinesis field. The participants will move through Sundarbari, Jalukbari, VIP Road, Satmile in the above order and then through the Hostel -3 will reach the Pyrofield . The track for the marathon is about 8 kilometers though the complete stretch is 21 km in length, it will have refreshment and first aid points at regular intervals making this a conducive opportunity for the general public to run for the noble cause like the Global Peace. The inaugural ceremony of the marathon is set to take place at 6.30 am and is likely to be graced by a number of people of eminence. The event boasts of prize money worth Rs 80 thousand and other attractive gifts and also the participants will get a free T-shirt(who ever completes the race). With an aim of spreading awareness for Global peace and creating knowledge about other related movements amongst the masses, the event has already stirred public interest. It is a T-shirt painting competition showcasing the creative talents of the students in order to deliver a symbolic/hidden message.This event provides the students with an opportunity to break the shackles of the hectic courses in the bundles of the books and gives them a sense of vibration to show up their talents and inspires a gush of blood to the prow. Some cause happiness wherever they go, others whenever they go and we aim the former.We will provide the participants with plain white Tshirts.The participants should bring the fabric colours and brushes as per their need.The event will be held in the Pyrokinesis field.We are expecting 100 and above participants. A registration fee of Rs.100 will be imposed on the participants.Certificate of participation and merit will be provided.Registration will be done in the campus itself and is open for both AEC and outside college and school students.
